Savannah has worked with animals her whole adult life. She started by dog sitting/dog walking while in school in Northern California, then worked at a doggy daycare in Sacramento for a couple years and she loved it.

Savannah moved to Portland in December 2019 and landed a job as a receptionist at a vet clinic in North Portland. After a couple of months, she trained as a veterinary assistant and loved the new role.

She continued to learn more skills and absorb all the vet med knowledge. She thought that she might want to become a certified technician, and even did two semesters of school, but life had other plans. Savannah took a break from school and vet med (and the workforce in general) for about a year after discovering that she was pregnant with her daughter.

Savannah loved this new life experience, but missed being an assistant and working with animals daily. She returned to work and started with Brooklyn Yard in September 2025.

Maybe in the future Savannah will go back to school and finish her degree to become a certified technician. For now, she is focusing on balancing work and life, and just enjoying being back in the action.

Savannah has two cats named Gizmo and Hashbrown.

When not at work, she is usually hanging out with her partner and toddler, going on hikes/walks, and looking for new places to explore.
