Medication, Supply & Food Donations
We thank you so much for considering a donation of your pet’s unused medications and supplies!
We do not have the storage space to keep and allocate unused/not-needed medication and other pet supplies. We also do not have the capacity to dispose of unused medications for our clients (especially for controlled drugs). If you would like to see if a donation is possible or needed through various animal aid and rescue groups, please reach out directly to the organizations below to see what they can accept and what is truly needed.

Portland Animal Welfare Team (PAW Team) - supplies and pet food accepted. Contact directly to see if a medication donation is needed or if it is possible.
Good Bones Alliance - supplies, food, and OTC meds accepted; no prescription medication.
PDX Cat Trapper - supplies and cat food accepted; contact directly regarding OTC or prescription medications.
Oregon Humane Society (Portland & Salem locations) - supplies and food accepted, limitations on prescription medications.
Cat Adoption Team - supplies and food accepted, no OTC or prescription medications.
One Tail at a Time PDX - supplies, food, and OTC medications accepted; limits on prescription medication.
Humane Society for Southwest Washington - supplies and food accepted, no OTC or prescription medications.
Multnomah County Animal Services - supplies and food accepted, no OTC or prescription medications.
If you need to dispose of medications (human or veterinary medications), please do not flush medications or dispose in the trash. Please see here for medication disposal options in Oregon: Oregon Health Authority Safe Drug Disposal.

Portland Animal Welfare Team
The Portland Animal Welfare Team is a grassroots, volunteer-powered nonprofit that provides vital veterinary services for over 1,000 Portland-area families per year, aiding individuals living on the streets, in transitional shelters or government housing, as well as those facing temporary financial hardship that restricts their access to medical care for their pets.
PAW Team provides veterinary care through a robust medical program including essential wellness, vaccinations, parasite prevention, medication, management of some chronic conditions, food, pet supplies, and so much more. They have no veterinarians on staff and rely on the generous time and energy of a network of volunteers to help power their clinics! We are proud to support our very own Dr. Kate Hooper who serves as the PAW Team President!

PDX Cat Trapper
Brooklyn Yard Veterinary Hospital is a proud veterinary partner for PDX Cat Trapper!
PDX Cat Trapper is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that uses TNR — trap, neuter, return — to stop the unchecked breeding and limit the suffering of community cats by supporting caregivers in the management of their colonies.We provide spay/neuter procedures and medical care to the feral and community cats who are under the PDX Cat Trapper umbrella.

Good Bones Alliance
Good Bones Alliance believes no one should have to surrender a beloved pet when help is within reach. By addressing these root causes early on, they help keep pets where they belong — with their person — and ease the strain on an already overburdened shelter system.
To do this, Good Bones Alliance provides essential resources, support, and education to help people and their pets stay together. Through its own programming and work alongside community partners, it aims to create accessible solutions, prevent unnecessary surrenders, and protect the lifelong bond between humans and animals.
Brooklyn Yard Vet provides routine wellness services and medical care for animals sponsored by Good Bones Alliance, and two of our employees, Maya and Sarah, sit on their board as Veterinary Advisors!

One Tail At A Time PDX
We provide medical care for OTATpdx dogs looking for the good life here in Portland. We work directly with foster home volunteers to address medical concerns and provide behavioral support for dogs under OTAT PDX’s care.
